About

I grew up in New Jersey, went to college at the University of Chicago (AB 1991), worked on the movie A River Runs Through It right after graduation, then lived on the west coast for a couple of years before returning to the Midwest for graduate school at the University of Michigan (PhD 1999). My first academic job was at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and I came to Purdue in 2002. 

I live in Lafayette, Indiana with my spouse and 2 kids, 2 cats, and 2 dogs.
